...for sure the best of all worlds. Puerto Plata while catering to this type of vacation is also much more expensive. In the Capital you can cruise the Conde during the day and pick up non-pros for a real GFE. Also if you want to go to the beach Boca Chica is 1/2 bus ride away, you could easily do a day trip or two. There are great Hotels as well in Santo Domingo, namely the Jaragua which has a really nice casino and tons of action within walking distance.
