On the legal aspects, check the real estate FAQ on the RVHB website [http://www.rvhb.com/faq_2.hm] which provides a terse but fairly good summary. A key point is to ensure that any property you buy has a clear and uncontested title. Some people get burned by being sold property by people who do not have uncontested title (or any title rights whatsoever, in a few cases).
