Default Re: Auto Shipment to DR

It is not so expensive to ship an auto from Miami, though I don't remember the rates at the moment. The costs are usually incurred at customs. These can be quite high and as the cost of buying a vehicle there has decreased in the last 5 years, it might be better to buy a new one there. Are you planning to live there or visit? Is it for resale? Your decision to ship should be carefully considered. Also, I was warned by a mechanic that there are certain precautions to take in shipping a car which can save a lot of money in repairs later. Better check about these too.
