Investing in US from DR

A relative of mine living in Santo Domingo is interested in both financial planning and investment services. He is knew to both concepts. As far as I can see, none of the major brokerage houses have offices in DR. I looked at some of the Dominican bank web pages and they did not seem to offer much with respect to the above. I was thinking of referring him to Citibank even though their website shows limited planning and investment services in DR. Any suggestions??? He wants a reputable company to help him with retirement planning and investing in the US Stock market.

there is a considerable wealth of information available via the web on these subjects. without going into details check out the yahoo finance home page, micro soft investor home page, quicken finance home page. before signing of with any financial planner or securities broker make sure you do considerable research otherwise you or going to expose yourself.

if you do not have the time and resources to research the matter then go with well know usa firms such as prudential, fidelilty, vanguard, waterhouse, etc.

as a comment banks offer the services you are looking for but i would not recommend them as a financial planner. their main focus is banking not personlized financial planning. good luck.
