Default Electric plugs

Can someone tell me if they have the same type of plugins as we do here in Canada or the US? Or are they the huge 3 prongers like they have in Europe? My wife has to plug in her curling Iron. Thank you very much, and I leave you this gem ( Why hate yourself in the morning, sleep till noon) :O)

I've only encountered our good old Canadian-style Plugs. :-)

The electrical outlets are exactly like those in the US and Can. The difference is that in the DR there is frequently no electricity flowing through them. The good news is that if you will be staying in a reputable hotel, they will have their own generaters. This means the outage may be an inconvienience, but it will be short lived.
