Default What kind of BEER will we get at Boca Chica?

Four fun loving Canadians will be at the Hamaca 1st week in Mar/99. We get Domestic drinks, what is that?? Local rum and beer? American beer? Is it any good, can't imagine a whole week with out good beer!!! Can we snorkel off the beach at the resort or do we have to travel?? Rum Runner Jeep Tour is not running on south shore, any other suggestions for a good day trip? What is the Casino like, we travel to Vegas regularly, will we be dissapointed? Will there be other Canadians there or do mostly Europeans and Americans visit there?

Default Some answers...

The beer is excellent! The rum is excellent! You can snorkel off the beach, but I would go on a boat to get to the good reefs that have life. The casino in the Hamaca, not Vegas, I think you will be dissapointed if that's what you are used to, but it's still fun. Good day trip, Santo Domingo, see the city. I hear that the Hamaca has a few Canadians at present, mainly European.

I think you will like both the beer and the rum. The atmosphere in the town and surrounding areas make them both taste good. Enjoy your trip and have a good time. The people are lovely and warm people there.

I don't know if you can get "MOOSEHEAD" beer there or not. I really like "MOOSEHEAD" beer, but I like "PRESIDENTE" much better! Closer to the German taste. I have been drinking beer, in many coutries of the world, for more years that I care to talk about! I can tell you that "PRESIDENTE" is right up there among the top ten!

Sorry, to differ with you, but Presidente beer is Number One. It's like the beautiful island of the Dominican Republic, once you've tasted it, you want more.

I totally agree. I've had my share of beer tasting (though can't call myself a beer drinker per se) in many countries, specially in really neat London pubs. My husband and I recently had a couple of Presidentes in South Beach, but you really have to drink it in hot SD to REALLY appreciate it!
