Default Dominican Republic

Hey I have a couple of questions I need answered for a school project. If you could answer any of these questions please respond to my email address. It is Mattchu25@aol.com.

1. I am supposed to figure out what city Christiopher Columbus' remains are buried in and what part of the city are they in.

2. When did the D.R. win its independance?

3. The D.R. is the 2nd largest nation in the West Indies. What is the first? What island group makes up the West Indies?

Now if you can answer any of these questions and are sure that the answers are correct, please e-mail me.

Thank you

Matt

The remains of Columbus are buried in the city of Santo Domingo, precisely in the Columbus Lighthouse memorial monument on the east end of the city.

The DR won its first independence from Spain in 1821. In 1844, the DR won its second independence, this time from Haiti.

Cuba is the largest island in the Caribbean. The DR is in the West Indies. The Webster dictionary as the islands lying between North America and South America bordering the Caribbean and comprising the Greater Antilles, Lesser Antilles and Bahamas.
