Consider Meliá Paradisus Punta Cana, that has an excellent all-included sports program for active people. Also, Club Med Punta Cana, if your children are 12 or under. Other property to consider is Club Dominicus, at Bayahibe in La Romana (about an hour's drive away), that gets high marks for the beach, water sports programs, and food.

suggestions, please? looking at the catalonia bavaro (yes, i've read what's been posted so far), the melia bavaro, the iberostar punta cana and the iberostar bavaro. 2 adults/2 kids on spring break in late march/early april. here's what's important to us: nice place, good food (no sickness!), activities (especially for the kids -- bikes, basketball, water sports), decent service. thanks so much!
