Boca CHica to Romana

We'll be staying in Boca Chica but would like to get out to see the Saona islands. We probably will not rent a car. Can we get from one to the ohter on buses, taxis... How long will it take and approximately how much will it cost? Thanks in advance,

Hi, I am a native of the DR; I would recommend you to rent a car to go to Saonas Islands. You could ride a bus, but it is no safe. It will be less shipper if you ride a bus, but like I said, it is not safe. If you know someone in the DR you will be okay. Tourists taking public transportation are an easy target for the criminals. If you are getting off a the International Airport in Santo Domingo, a taxi will charge you a lot because the Saonas Islands it is approximately 60 miles from the airport. Then if you are getting off at the Cajuiles Airport in La Romana, it will cost you around $10 US dollars to get to Saonas. Enjoy your trip and good luck!

Your hotel can probably arrange for you to take the excursion to Saona. If your hotel does not offer this tour, check with one of the larger hotels in Boca Chica.
