melia tropical in punta cana

my wife and i are staying at the melia tropical in march. can anyone give me feedback on this hotel, other melia's in the area, or punta cana in general. i have read many reviews, from great to horrendous, and am a little concerned about what is real. any help is appreicated. please reply to rhl53@aol.com. thanks.

Hi, I just read a review on Debbie's Dominican Page (www.computan.on.ca/~pdowney/travel.html) under "Your Reviews". sounds pretty good fro a brand new resort. We stayed at the Melia Bavaro in Dec. 98 - fantastic. Good luck.

Just got back from Punta Cana this morning. Beautiful place. One hotel is more beautiful than the other. I stayed at the Allegro resort and had a wonderful time. I did not see the Melia but I talked to people who did. They said the hotel was very nice. The hotel is new and alot of employees are just now being trained and our not well versed in speaking english. Be careful of the water because alot of people were getting sick there.
