Default NEED INFO!!!Allegro Resort Bavaro in Punta Cana

My husband and I are taking our 3 children (ages 13, 12 and 10) to Punta Cana April 10-17th. We are planning to stay at the Allegro Bavaro Resort. Our final payment is due in 48 hours. With all the mixed reviews I don't know if we should cancel or if the Allegro is OK. Any input is needed. THANKS!!!

I have not been there, but two couples I know just got back. Their complaints were minimal. Make reservations in the sit down resturants as soon as possible because they fill up quicky as does reservations for horse back riding. Both couples said that the food was very good, especially at the sit down dining room. Don't drink the tap water.Enjoy the shows, but keep your children off the stage. If you are Catholic there is a mass Sunday night on the property.

My husband and I area going March 13th for a week at the Iberostar Bavaro. If I hear any more I will let you know.

Go to the top of this page and click on "RESORT DATABASE" and search for multiple reviews on this property. These are a great way to get "honest" information, as they are posted from readers who have been there themselves with no reason to embelish or put down the resort.

Marleen, thanks for answering so quickly. would your friends recommend the Allegro bavaro as a family resort?? I'm just curious, why shouldn't I let my children on stage at shows?? I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip in March. Thanks for keeping me posted. And yes we are Catholic and I was wondering about mass times Thanks for the info.

My wife and I just got home today from staying at Allegro resort. Very nice place. It is family oriented. Some topless on beach, but not alot. Alot of the people working there speak English well enough to understand. The food there was alot better than I expected it to be. In fact I thought it was rather good. Lots of activities going on for kids at the hotel. Very nice pool and alot of watersport activities on the beach that are all included. Banana boat rides, windsurfing lessens, snorkeling, etc. Free horsebacking which lasts an hour that you can do as a family. Just make sure the kids are careful not to drink the water out of the tap system in the rooms. The hotel supplies drinking water daily to all rooms in gallon jugs. I really think the whole family will enjoy it there. My wife and I sure did.

I just returned from a 4 night stay at Allegro Bavaro with two other women friends. It was supposed to be a break from our 10 (collectively!)children, but the whole time I was thinking about how perfect a vacation spot Allegro Bavaro would be for a family vacation. I plan to return next March with my husband and 4 children ( 1,6, 9 and 11). I would write more, but the baby is trying to turn off the computer. I'm sure that you will have a great time. one bit of advice- don't even brush your teeth with the tap water and just in case, bring plenty of Immodium! Tell Teo the bartender that Elizabeth ssys hola!
