status of Arroyo Barril airport

Can someone please tell me the latest news on the status of the Arroyo Barril airport in Samana-Are they accepting international flights (specifically from New York or Miami)?

I would like to plan a trip to Casa Marina Bay Hotel for this coming summer in Playa Cala Blanca (near Las Galeras Samana), and would like to know the best way to arrive there.

Also if anyone has been to that hotel and has any info about it could you please either post a response, e.mail me, or submit a hotel review to this board. Thanks.

The travel agencies asked from germany was told that in the winter season no airplanes will shedule this airport (:-(( The have no information yet about the end of the construction. There is a web-page about the airport but no date (only blablabla)

The airport opened on Saturday for domestic flights and small aircraft (about 45 passengers). The runway is but 1,800 meters. This means at best you can connect with American Eagles from San Juan, Puerto Rico. That airline, nevertheless, has not announced the start of its flights into the airport.
