barcelo bavaro palace

We have booked a trip thru apple vacations to depart in June. We really do not know what to expect. Any input would be greatly appreciated. What are the rooms like? How's the food? We were told that there is supervised children's activities, is this true? We will be traveling with a 5 year old and a 2 year old.

Nancy! Hi, my name is Diane and I went to Punta Cana last year and loved every minute! Yes, there are supervised kid's activities...there were a lot of children at the resorts. I stayed at the Bavaro Beach Resort and the thing with the Barcelo Bavaros, is that staying in one, means that you can use the facilities of all of them...these include, the Casino, the Golf, the Beach, the Garden, etc...that was the best part b/c you can eat at either one everyday...it's your choice to go where you wish. The staff really go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying yourself. You'll love it! The food is okay. I mean, it is the Carribean and the Barcelo takes so many people, the food is a bit rushed. Therefore, take it at face value. There is great selection. I myself, went with Pizza and french fries a lot. Don't try the Carribean Lobster...the marinades will make you sick to your stomach!

The Bavaro palace is beautiful, you'll love it! Like Diane, my wife and I have stayed at the Bavaro Beach three times, and plan on going back. The beach is the best beach we've visited!
