Default CATALONIA OR NATURA

MY HUSBAND AND I ARE PLANNING ON GOING TO PUNTA CANA THIS JULY. WE HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN TO JAMAICA, BAHAMAS AND CANCUN, BUT KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. I UNDERSTAND NOT TO DRINK THE WATER, TAKE A CONVERTER AND LEARN SOME SPANISH. WE ARE TRYING TO DECIDE BETWEEN THE NATURA AND CATALONIA. I HAVE READ ALL I CAN ON THESE (NOT TOO MUCH OUT THERE ON THE CATALONIA), BUT WOULD LIKE INFO FIRST HAND. WE AREN'T INTO PARYTING LATE AT NIGHT. WE LIKE A CLEAN PLACE, VARIETY OF FOOD, GOOD DRINK, SUN AND WATER. COULD I GET SOME DETAILS ON THE CATALONIA OR NATURA? THANKS.

Dear Ginny, I am writing you regarding your doubts between Catalonia and Natura Park.

I was in the same situation: I had a reservation at the Catalonia and was going to cancel my trip due to the very bad information I got about that Resort on the Net. Luckily I did not cancel and went to the adventure. I said luckily because what I found is a huge complex, the newest in the area. a 5 stars with everything included, we had the chance to eat in 4 "a la carte" restaurants (French, Italian, Brazilian and Japanese specialities), there is a creperie, an ice cream parlour, and a barbecue on the beach. the rooms are beautifully decorated, nice colours, confortables. There is a big round tub, separated shower, mini bar included and a wonderful hammock on the terrace. From the beach I had the possibility to walk and see the other complex in the "Cabeza de Toro" area: Natura Park and Allegro Resort. Natura is 4 stars Resort with a nice entrance but a very few election about food and facilities. I talked with guests there and told me that they had a very hard time, as in Natura they only offer 220 V. electricity and no converter! (In Catalonia you have both: 110 V. and 220 V. with both American and European plugs in the bathroom!). Allegro is also a very big Hotel, but as I could see, there aren't small Resorts around.

Hope I helped you a little bit more about your decision and wish you a pleasant trip to the Dominican Republic.

Ginny, go to the resort database and read the reviews on the Catalonia. I have been there and would not recommend anyone to go there. By the way, Valentina answered our questions and posed as a representative of the Catalonia so I don't know how she can have an unbiased opinion about the two resorts. She is attempting to persuade you to go to the Catalonia. Don't do it!!!!!
