best water filtration system

We live here in the DR. We're seeking out info. on the best in home water filtration system, if there is one. Has anyone bought one that really works? Thank you!

yes after more than 20 years in africa, asia and the caribbean I use katadyn - and it works. or - why not boil it for app. 20 min. I`ve never got sick

I have found that the very fine ceramic filters do a great job. I know of one that has been in use for aver 15 years in the DR without every resulting in illness due to bad water. You do have to keep them clean.
