We are thinking of staying here, but other than the brochure information received, wew dont't know anything about it. It looks great! Does anyone have any comments ... pro or con?

You can maybe get more info about the Haciendas by going to check out http://www.hacienda-resorts.com/ We have a quickie webpage of our trip if you want to check that out too! http://foyfd.recorder.ca/trip.htm

Jennifer, Thanks for your response. I checked out your site and it looks great, but my confusion lies in the fact that I'm not sure if Hacienda Villas Del Mar is a "stand alone" resort or part of a larger resort. The resort we're looking at is part of the Merlin Clubs and Resorts. Is this the same as the pictures at your site or is it something different? The pictures I've seen in the brochure look like a pretty high class place (I'm not suggesting your spot wasn't great and I don't want to stick my foot in my mouth) with Spanish/Moorish architecture, private pools, etc. I appreciate your comments. Regards, Gerry

Hi, when we stayed at the Haciendas, there, on the resort, but slightly separated was the "villas" they were like a small community. All absolutely stunning homes...private pools, maid service etc...but, these homes all had the ammenities of the rest of the resort. Our friends went up to one of the homes with a couple who were staying there, and they had things like a fully stocked bar at all times, and we were told that they will deliver dinner for you etc..Now, to look at them, they were absolutely stunning. They are on the same resort, but seperated..if you can get the picture! They looked very nice, and If I had the opportunity to do it, I would...Lynn

Thanks for your response. This clears up my confusion. I could find information on Hacienda Villas but nothing that was specifically "Del Mar". I appreciate the info. This looks like where we want to go. Gerry

Hi Gerry! I believe we are talking about the same place! The villas are gorgeous! And great for a family! I know if we were to take the kids we would more than likely do the villa stay.It would be fun for the kids and they could have a great time without us haroing at them to be quiet all the time! We walked through the villas and they do come with everything including a maid that will come in and get your breakfast for you! That alone sounds like a great plan to me! Anyhow-if you have any more questions feel free to email us! Have a super holiday!
