Need Info on Dominican Adoptions

I'd like information on adoption laws in the Dominican Republic. I am a US citizen who desires to adopt a pre-identified child from the Dominican Republic. I specifically need to know if there are minimum age or length of marriage requirements for adoptive parents. If you have any information that could be useful,please write to me at adopt101@aol.com. Adoption in the Dominican Republic is governed by Articles 27 through 96 of Law 14-94 and by Articles 14 through 21 of Regulation 59-95. The mininum age for adopting parents is 25. Adopting couples must be married for at least 5 years. The process is time consuming and expensive. A long posting in the archives dated March 20, 1998 is very helpful regarding the U. S. side of the equation, however, it contains mistaken information about age requirements of adopting parents and governing law.
