Default LA RAMANA

We will be staying at Casa Del Mar from May29th to June 6th in La Ramana. I read a book that said expect to wait 2 hours at customs. Anybody ever arrive at this airport that can tell me what it is like. Also anybody ever stay at this resort that can tell me what is was like. I would appreciate any information that people can give me. Is this time of the year the rainy season? Also is there nudity or topless on the beaches in case we bring the kids? Is safety an issue at the airport? Thank you in advance for your responce.

Default Re: LA RAMANA

If your flight coincides with a peak travel season this is possible, but the norm is that you clear the airport in under an hour. If you are arriving tot he La Romana airport, you will get out even quicker. Check the Resort Database and the message board archives for opinions of those who have stayed there. Weather in the Caribbean has changed somewhat, what with El Niño and La Niña, so I don't think anyone can accurately forecast when the "rainy season" will be. The most probable weather you will encounter is sunny, with a short shower now and then. There is topless on Dominican beaches as European travelers prevail. The kids become accustomed to it rapidly and stop noticing. Passenger safety is a major concern for local and international authorities that work closely using FAA rulings. If you are concerned with being robbed, it is not an issue, but maintain the same common sense precautions for traveling anywhere.
