Default Jaraqua

I will be staying at the Jaragua next week and then at Capella Beach. How are thes hotels. I know the Jaragua has a casino. Can anyone tell me about it. How about nightclubs? Are there any in these hotels and are they good. I'm single and hoping to meet some local ladies. Do they like "gringos'/ I hope so.

The Hotel Juaragua Renaissance Casino is a five star deluxe hotel conveniently located on the seaside boulevard called the Malecon. It is right in the middle of the all of Santo Domingo's nightlife, and among its many amenities it has an olympic size pool, a European spa and fitness center, two restaurants, a nightclub (which I hear is excellent), a souvenir shop, an executive lounge for the discriminating traveler, a travel reservations desk, and a tour desk where you can make arrangements to visit other places in the Dominican Republic. It is undeniably one of the top three hotels in Santo Domingo - Colonial City. Though expensive compared to some of the more moderately priced hotels like El Napolitano or Hotel Naco, you will find that your experience there is an enjoyable one. Also keep in mind that the hotel has nightly live entertainment. As for the other place you are traveling to, I have no information to provide. Perhaps other thoughtful board participants will be able to contribute info on the second destination. I hope I have been helpful.

The Capella is really great. Great staff, the food is good, the entertainment very good and the people who stay there all seem really friendly.

The Jaraqua is most likely the finest "hotel" in the country. Please note I opine it is a hotel, not resort. The service is impeccable, facilities beautiful and the closest you will find to an American or fine European Hotel anywhere.

The Disco and Casino are two of the finest in the republic, the Disco at my last vist, was the most popular upscale meeting place in Santo Domingo.

You should be cautioned of one thing: If it is your intent to "meet" local ladies, the security and restrictions at the Jaragua is very guest oriented, and unless that person is registered, your evening will likely end at the disco.

If your looking for (that time of your life ) unforgetable trip . Do not leave the Jaraqua. The Capella Beach Resort has little to offer a young single person. It has virtully no nightlife . It is allinclusive and the food is below par. A friend and I stayed there (single guys) and found it to be a good place for couples and familys. Outside the Jaragua there is a world of GOOD AND PLEANTY!!! GOOD FOOD, GOOD RESTURANTS, GOOD NIGHTLIFE. AND PLEANTY 0F LADIES.

the capella is mainly a family hotel if the disco there is not to your taste you can for about 150$dom pesos use the neighbouring hotels discos by purchasing a discotech bracelet, there are also excellent discos on the highway 5 mins in a taxi called el batey or a more native one called el coucho

If you plan on gambling at the casino in the Jaragua, inquire about the casino rate for the room (US $55+ 24% tax).
