"Bobby"

Maybe you should read all of the messages before you make statements not based in fact. 90+% of the people on this board are NOT Dominican, but people wishing to learn about life in the DR. Also, MOST people on this board have the courage to post their email and real names when answeering or asking questions.

Don't condemm someone from blind hate or cowardice

Bobby,Iam 15 years in this sunny island and admire its people for their helpful and friendly nature, despite often desperately poor living conditions in certain areas.I cannot imagine why you are so turned off. I would be very interested to learn exactly why.Best regards, Canadian Bob.

Default Bobby you ignorance is showing!

If you post a question here you will usually get an answer less it be inappropriate. Or there is no one who knows the right answer on line yet. As was said most are not Dominicans on this page but travelers who frequent the Island. So What was your question I just got back?

I think Bobby has a problem for which there is no answer to be found on this board. May God bless him and keep him, and maybe help him to solve his problem. Happy Easter all, you too Bobby.

Bobby,

I couldn't help stopping by this string when I saw the nature of the topic. I have to agree with TOMAS -- you shot yourself in the foot with those remarks about the Dominican people. I agree there are a few sour apples in every barrell, but if you took some time to look and research before you blurt such statements, you would realize that the people of the Republic have NEVER had a stable government and every time someone promices them something, there usually some level of disappointment.

I have been to the Dominican many times over the last five years and have been "burned" by some of the people, but I also had to cut them some slack because of the level of poverty and other problems. Hurricane Georges changed everything down there and it has turned some very nice people into hardened seekers of whatever is needed. They will help you if you can be polite AND firm. We can all learn from each other.

Please--eyes open, mouth zipped...let the people teach you.

Blessyou-- Dee
