Default Any info on South Coast?????

We visited the North Coast in February and are going to go back to the D.R. next year around the same time. We are looking for any information from people that have been to the South Coast to an all-inclusive resort that has golf included in their package. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks! Ray

Hi there, Ray-- Yes... the South Coast is ALIVE AND WELL. You will thoroughly LOVE that side of the country. I noted that you were looking for an all-inclusive resort with golf as part of its package.

Two places come to mind: the town of Juan Dolio has several sorts that have access to a golf club. My particular bias is to the city of La Romana and the Casa de Campo resort. It has one of the world's top 25 courses -- Teeth of the Dog -- as well as just about any other type of sports and beach activities available. They have a web site and they can be reached at [809]523-3333.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Default South Coast/East Coast

I think maybe there is confusion for people who don't know the country as to what the "south coast" is. I gathered from the post that this person was requesting information on resorts located on the Carib. instead of the Atlantic side, not specifically eastern/western South Coast

The two hotels that have their own golf course are Metro (Juan Dolio) and Casa de Campo (La Romana). Talanquera expects to offer their own golf course soon. But most hotels in Juan Dolio will offer their guests golf packages using the Metro course. Also, guests staying in Boca Chica can play at the Andres course. Of these three, Casa de Campo's and the Metro are for serious golfers.
