Vinnie,

All of the restaraunts at this resort are great. Be sure to eat at the La Brisa Restaraunt on the beach. It is in between the Palace and the Beach resort. Great food, great servive, and great view.

Although we've never gone, everyone that we have talked to has said that the "Tropicalisimo" show at the Casino resort is excellent. It includes dinner, but I don't know many other particulars except that you have to make reservations and everyone says it's incredible.

Good luck and enjoy!

Default Bavaro Palace.....

Hi again,

I'm leaving the 19th of April. I wanted to know if there was a list of "must do or must eat places". I really appreciate the info. The first time going somewhere is always the toughest, because on the way home, you say to yourself, "Next time, I'll go there." So I would appreciate the names of places to eat, or things to do. I'll be there for ten days. I can't wait. Thanks again!!!!!

I loved the Bavaro Palace. It was a great value on a beautiful beach.

I went to the Tropicalissimo show and did not like it at all. The music was not of my taste (I like Merengue and Bachata but not Salsa). The show put us to sleep. It was very crowded and uncomfortable.

In my report, I wrote "The show at the Tropicalissimo was a Las Vegas style song and dance act that lasted about 1 1/2 hours. It put me to sleep and I noticed lots of the people around me were also falling asleep. Also, the layout for viewing consists of bench style seating on the main floor. The entire layout is not very conducive for watching a show. They really crammed us in there."

I agree with Jim's comments on the Tropicalissimo. The night we went at least 1/4 of the audience left before it was over including our party. The singers and dancers were really quite good but the venue was so poor and definitely not conducive to watching a show. In my opinion, I would add Higuey to the places not to waste your time on. Manati Park is about 15 minutes from the Bavaro and it is a nice change of pace and you can swim with dolphins. Reservations for the swim must be made as soon as you arrive in P.C. The resort complex is full of activities and just walking around the grounds is a pleasurable experience. The shows in the hotels each night are a lot of fun as long as you're not one of the audience participants. Enjoy!

I just got back yesterday. You will love it!! The paella at "La Brisa" is wonderful!! We ate many lunches and dinners there and the food was always great. Enjoy the lobster there too! The best times on the beach are in teh mornings at sunrise and the evenings at sunset. It is quiet and peaceful. We also enjoyed the "Palace" restaurant. Although it isn't part of the all inclusive, we got a special invitation to eat there (as did many others on our tour). It wasn't spectacular, but if you can eat there for free, I would encourage it. The snorkeling was fun too. It is so easy and so cheap, you can't miss it!! You will love this hotel. Walk the grounds of the whole resort and have a wonderful time!!
