Default education for 10th grader

WE HAVE TAKEN CARE OF A YOUNG DOMINICAN FOR SEVERAL YEARS IN THE UNITED STATES. HE IS AN EXCELLENT STUDENT AND AN EVEN BETTER PERSON. WE WOULD LKE FOR HIM TO STUDY IN THE 10TH GRADE AT A SCHOOL IN THE DR NEXT YEAR.

DOES ANYONE HAVE SUGGESTIONS ABOUT SCHOOLS OR A LIST OF SCHOOLS.

THANKS

Do you want him to be educated in English or in Spanish? It may also make a difference as to why you wish him to be educated in the DR. The fact that he will probably need to be in a boarding type of school needs to be taken into account also. I know of a boarding school whose classes are in English, which is called Escuela Carribe. It is located in Jarabocoa. I don't know much about Spanish schools, but there is also a large English school by the name of "Carol Morgan School" which is in Santo Domingo as well as an excellent English school located in Santiago called "Santiago Christian School". I most familiar with this school as I taught there for a year and still keep in touch with and visit every year. At SCS the students are mostly Dominicans who want the very best in and English education.

Thank you for the information.

He is completely bilingual, so the language does not matter. It probably makes most sense if the school focuses on Spanish.

His parents are in the hills near Cotui. It is unlikely that he could live there and attend a good school--although I really do not know.

He also has an aunt in Santo Domingo he could stay with while attenting a school there.

I suppose the ideal "option" would be to attend a day school but live with a local family (we obviously would pay for his expenses).

A boarding school would be fine (he would likely thrive), it simply is a matter of affordability.

I will be researching the schools mentioned. Please offer any additional advice you might think of. Jake
