Sea Horse Ranch

My husband and I and two other couples are coming to the Dominican Republic for two weeks in Feb., 2000, and are looking for a 3 bedroom, 3 bath villa or condo on the beach in either Cabarete or Sosua. Has anyone ever rented one of the villas at the Sea Horse Ranch? We do not want to do the all-inclusive "going to camp" thing, as we prefer to eat in different restaurants every night, but I'm concerned the Sea Horse Ranch isn't that convenient to either Cabarete or Sosua without a car. Anyone know? What about getting around once we are there? We are used to staying in Mexican beach cities where it is easy to walk from place to place or take buses. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The Sea Horse Ranch is a gated community with a setup similar to Casa de Campo. It is a neighborhood, accessible only by a service road that passes throught a gated guard shack, about 5 minutes from Sosua. You would need a car to go between Sosua and the houses located within the Sea Horse Ranch. This is a very private and upscale secured community, with some houses valued at millions of dollars.
