Default Iberostars

I have a question regarding the Iberostar resorts.....is one better than the other? I also have seen some say that they are on the beach and some say they are several blocks away from the beach. I have seen mixed reviews about the Iberostar Punta Cana being the newest, but also that the Iberostar Bavaro is better. And what about the Iberostar Dominicana? I haven't read much about it. Are any room locations better than others, and if so, which ones? Please help! Thanks!

Default Re: Iberostars

The Dominicana & Punta Cana are almost identical All Inclusive resorts that face each other across a very lush courtyard. The Dominicana is 2-3 years older, but all the rooms are about the same. The Bavaro is a non all inclusive that is a little more upscale, swapping a big hotel building for many smaller 8 plex type of buildings (very spread out, with some long walks). They are not good resort's for a person that has trouble on there feet, as it's more spread out than some, the Bavaro being the worst in that respect.

Default Re: Iberostars

We loved the Iberostar Bavaro. Rooms were spacious, grounds spectacular. We walked through the other 2 Iberostars and thought the Bavaro was much nicer. The Bavaro's pool in fabulous -- the kids loved the swim-up bar (which served ice cream sundaes). Also, you can eat at all 3 if you stay at the Bavaro (which DOES have an all-inclusive option -- we took it). I thought the long walks were great -- made me feel less guilty about eating all that great food. We all (kids and adults) preferred the food at the Bavaro to the other 2, except for the BBQ restaurant (La Cana) which was great -- simple, grilled foods including salmon, lamb, burgers, chicken -- and right on the beach (feet in the sand while you eat!). I did post a review. Hope you have a great time.
