From Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata-Need Help!

Hi,

What's the best way to go from Santo Domingo to Puerto Plata ? Any bus from Las Americas Airport to Herrera Airport ? I've heard there are flights from Herrera (Santo Domingo) to Puerto Plata. But my plane will land in Las Americas . Any suggestions?

The least costly option is to take a cab into Santo Domingo (less than US$20) to Metro Bus and take the Metro to Puerto Plata (about US$6). Air Santo Domingo flies three times a day to Puerto Plata. Their flight times are 8:15 am, 10:30 am and 4:45 pm. They charge about US$50 for the SD-Puerto Plata trip. Note you will be charged in RD$, thus the figures we give are approximates. You can also consider overnighting in Santo Domingo, ask a hotel taxi to give you a mini-city tour, and take the bus the next day. If you will be spending only one night in Santo Domingo, stay at one of the colonial city hotels -- Hotel Frances, Hostal Nicolas Nader, or Hotel Palacio. If you want to be near to the Metro Bus station, stay at the Hotel Embajador.

Metro has departures at 7, 8, 11 am, 4, 6:30 and 7 pm
