Checked the currency converter. It is listing RD$15.74 for the Dominican peso. The Central Bank rate is RD$15.88 (used as reference by commercial banks) and exchange houses are offering upwards of RD$16.
The reason I referred to this being the best is because of it being easy to use. I feel that "Listin DIGITAL" would give you the current price at street value. Although, I may be wrong. Go to the link and check the upper right hand corner for 'Compra' (buy), and 'Venta' (sale) to view the current exchange rate.
I've been told that the Caribe Tours Terminal in Santo Domingo has the best exchange rate (street rate),and they will convert large amounts, (up to $10,000.US dollars).
