DR in October

Hi everyone! I am planning a trip to Punta Cana in mid-October and was wondering a couple things: there is some kind of Dominican Holiday in October..anyone know when and how it is celebrated? I would assume temperatures still to be in the 80's? Also, since children will be in school will there be a good chance not too many will be at an all-inclusive? Thanks! karen

Dominicans usually vacation on holidays or weekends. Jack Tar Village in Playa Dorada, Puerto Plata is one hotel that does not accept children.

Where are you staying in October? We are also going in mid-October and staying at Iberostar Punta Cana. I hope there aren't a lot of kids that time of year too. We will be leaving our 3-year-old daughter at home.

Lisa- we are thinking the Allegro Bavaro..and probably the 16th or 23rd of October...can't wait!!!!
