Re: Best insect repellant
I read an article recently which warned users of insect repellants to be aware of the varying degrees of DEET content. If you look closely, all repellants with DEET will provide you with the DEET content value....I'm not exactly sure what this means! However, I've since noticed DEET values ranging anywhere from 20 to 90. DEET, according to this article, is a cancer causing agent (like just about everything else, some might say) and any repellant with DEET content greater than 35 puts you at "greater risk", with NO added "protection" from insects. As for the kids, this article had nothing to offer. This info comes from a canadian outdoorsman magazine (the actual name excapes me).....take it as you please!
