Living in DR

I need some info on living in DR. How much does it cost? Rent, food, and transportation? I would like to stay there a couple months. If anyone could assist me it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are seriously considering living in the DR, you should purchase the Living in Santo Domingo book available on this web site that has answers to most of your questions. It features a chapter on the cost of living in the DR.

I'm a photographer living here for some time, hope this will help:

Rent, starting at around US$ 400.00 - 550 (about RD$ 7,000 - RD$ 10,000.00) in the city of Santo Domingo.

Transportation is very cheap but very uncomfortable. Taxi in the city cost about RD$ 50.00 (about US$ 3.00)

For food it all depends on what you eat. Dominicans do have Mc's and Dominoes and all the rest...
