tourist card cost

I'm a little confused. Do I need to pay US $10 to get into the country and another US $10 to leave? And when and where do I pay it? We're going to Punta Cana if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Hi Yes you pay $11 to enter and $10 to leave. Well at least that is what I paid this past time (3/6/99 - 8/6/99) from N.Y. to Santo Domingo.I paid before boarding the plane in N.Y. and then before boarding the plane in Santo Domingo. Herb

Yes, you pay US$10 (tourist card) to enter and US$10 to depart. The US$10 tourist card can be purchased at the airport of entry (bring change and a pen), and the airline will collect the US$10 charge prior to your departure.

The fee to depart from La Romana is US$15 (US$5 airport use fee and US$10 departure tax).

I don't know why you paid $11. the fee is $10. for a tourist card. You can ask for one when you check in at the airline counter. Many times tey will be able to sell one to you and you can fill it out during the flight. When you go through immigration, make sure you get your copy back!! They will take the top copy and give you back the bottom. When you depart the DR immigration will take the second copy from you, if you lose that copy or you never got it when you arrived they will charge you another $10. tourist card. Keep that copy with your passport. When you depart DR after check in you will go onto another line to pay the $10. departure tax.
