Default Where to find Dominican People?

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and would appreciate any info that may lead to meeting some Dominican people, as I have been trying to make some new friends and have had no luck. Thanks!

get MIRC IRC chat and get on the Undernet, then go to #Dominicanos or #Rominicanos. You will find literally hundreds on line at any given time.

Thanks Loren, but how do I get MIRC IRC chat? Is it an address I type then simply click on a Chat button, like most places??

Default MIRC

http://www.mirc.co.uk

It is a free chat program. The thing about it is that unlike ICQ, MIRC works through several different networks of servers that operate independently of each other.

To log on to a specific chat group, you must be in the right network first. The Dominican groups I have talked in are through Undernet.

IRC is not difficult to use, but it is not particularly intuitive either, so you will have to read the instructions. There is lots of help available through their websites and included with the program, which you download.

Hey People-- If you're looking for Dominicans-- take a trip to New York!!! There are over one million of them here!!! I am not being silly with you!!We have most everything here in NYC that there is on the island including the food and Presidente beer, the newspapers and the music.

Also-- in August there will be a HUGE Dominican parade in Manhattan. There is also an organization for the Dominican community here called the Alianza Dominicana; I first discovered them by searching Yahoo several years ago.

Just a thought--

What about Barcelo and Brugal? I get Presidente when I go to Miami, but I havent come acros Barcelo. I wish I could find it in Ohio, but they tell me that a state distributor would have to pick it up first. If I can get the rum in New York, how much does it cost?

Thanx!

By the way, the things that New York City does not have is the atmosphere, low prices and natural beauty of the Dominican Republic.

I can party high on the hog in the Dominican Republic for less than $100 a day including hotel, food and entertainment for 2 !!!

Hi Dee,

When exactly is the Domican Parade in Manhattan? I might be in the area at the end of August...

Thanks in advance,

Dominicana
