Not sure about the Merengue Festival, but perhaps you are interested in the Jazz Festival: Sosua and Cabarete Jazz Festival Sosua and Cabarete are proud to announce their annual jazz festival will be held 8-10 October. Read yesterday's news for further info.

We contacted the tourism office in Puerto Plata. They do not have programmed dates, but indicate it is either the first or second week of October.
