(I am physician from Europe and want to work in DR,How can I get more information about the opportunities.I would like to contact the Medical Association but don"t know the address or e-mail ,Can some body help me?

there is mission work, work for government, there are free clinics (Loren posted an item on someone he knows), and there is work in private sector. Do you want to serve the rich or the poor?

why should Neli have to make a choice? Why must we separate these people into groups...to pit them against each other for the gain of politicians?

Good point. It is not me that separates them. Neli is basically job hunting for a position as doctor. There are many positions for doctors in the DR; these positions are already separated into serving the rich or the poor. The rich pay well for their care, and the poor can't pay. So the choice is basically whether he wants to word in the private or public domain. Same thing here in the US; there are free clinics and private doctors. Maybe he will do a little of both.

To legally practice medicine in the DR you will need to have an "exequatur" issued by the Dominican government. To get this document you will need to do a year's service at a public hospital, either of the Social Security system or the public health system. You may need to convalidate your title, but am not sure of that.

This is exactly what I need to know. How to find a position in a public hospital in Santo Domingo .Second question -Am I allowed to practice medicine in DR with my bulgarian madical degree or have I to pass some test.Who to contact -The Medical Association or the Ministery of Health.Can you give me their e-mail address?
