samana in december

hello, my friends and I both domincan and canadian are thinking about taking a 3 day trip to samana, to break up the time we spend in puerto plata, and for a chance to see a little more about the beautiful island. We are planning on renting jeeps, and heading out, but I am looking for a nice but inexpensive place to stay, there could be up to 8 of us going.

Any tips on getting there, staying there, eating there, dancing there.......etc. I guess you get what I am trying to say, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Try La Tambora at Los Cacaos beach. There are a few Dominican discos araound, satisfaction garanteed. prices are real low, but the fun is great. The Tambora has a website under same name so you can check it out. Peter

You want to stay in Las Galeras or Las Terreanas, not Samana. There isn't much in Samana, not even a beach. The best beaches and hotels are located primarily in these two oceanfront communities. One of the two, Las Galeras is a quaint fishing village on Rincon Bay, home of Playa Rincon, one of the five prettiest beaches in the world.
