Hato Mayor is in the East of the DR. It is a province located between Monte Plata and El Seibo. On its southern side, this province borders with San Pedro de Macoris. The capital of the province is Hato Mayor, Sabana de la Mar (from where the boats leave transporting cargo and passengers to Samaná) is another important city of this province. It has two important tourist attractions -- the Cueva Fun Fun (an underground network of caves) and Plantación Tropical (a working flower farm).
