Need Information on how to start a business in DR

Hi there,

I am interested in starting a tourist attraction in Dominican Republic. I would like to know if anyone knows of any place in the web where I can get tourism statistical information, business law, and requirements for foreign investment. Also I would like to know if there are any incentives such as tax holydays, duties excemption for the capital equipment required and so on.

We are interested in Bringing a very unique attraction to DR which consists of an underwater tour aboard a submarine specifically designed to carry tourists. Please, email with information.

Pilot-- you and I are in the same boat but I can answer one of your questions: much of the information and regulations you need are available at the Dominican Republic consulates here in the Statesor from the Embassy in DC. There are several consulates but the one I am most familiar with is is New York. It is located at 1510 Broadway--4th floor, New York, NY 10036.

Anyone reading this who can tell me about import duties on used clothing and proper shipping procedures... I'd be particularly grateful for the info.
