Default Media in Dominican Republic

I'm doing a project on the media systems in the Dominican Republic and I'm trying to get a feel of the situation down there. Is there a strong freedom of press or does the government have any say in what the public hears and doesn't hear. My family is from there and I lived there when I was young but I never had any reason to gather this information before. If anyone has a thought they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated!

Suggest you contact the Interamerican Press Association. They carry out annual country reports on freedom of the press in Latin America.
