January 1, New Year's Day January 21, Our Lady of Altagracia Day February 27, Independence Day; Good Friday September 24, Our Lady of Mercedes Day; Corpus Christi Day December 25, Christmas Day.
In the Dominican Republic, the following holidays will be celebrated on the closest Monday or Friday to the actual date:
January 6, Epiphany Day January 26, Juan Pablo Duarte's Birthday May 1, Labor Day August 16, Dominican Restoration Day November 6, Constitution Day.

Jan 6 Epiphany. Jan 26 Día de Duarte (birthday of Juan P. Duarte, founder of the Republic). Mar-Apr Good Friday - Easter Sunday (over the Easter weekend of 'La Samana Santa', the country shuts down, almost all Dominicans head for the beach. On Good Friday music is not allowed to be played (loudly) anywhere, including in clubs or discotheques.) Apr 14 Pan-American Day. June 3, Corpus Christi Jul 16 Foundation of Sociedad la Trinitaria.
