Default costamar

I am planning to rent a home in the Costambar section of Puerto Plata, does anyone know anything about this complex?

Costambar is in Puerto Plata Province but I beleive is not part of the city of Puerto Plata which lies to the East of Costambar. Within Costamber there are hundreds of homes and small apartments some of which are on the beachfront. It is a relatively quiet area compared to Puerto Plata city (or Sosua/Cabarete area some 27Km down the coast.)

Costambar is a residential community just West of Puerto Plata. It has a sheltered beach which is supposedly great to lie on and not quite as good to swim from, villas for rent - some with staff - plus a few hotels/B&B's.

Immediately West of Costambar is Cofresi, which is where the huge Hacienda complex - several hotels and holiday apartments on the same ground - is. Cofresi has a lot of stylish villas for rent as well.

For further information on the Puerto Plata area you could try this link: www.popreport.com

And here is a nice B&B in Costambar: www.cruising-america.com/villas which is the link for Villas Olas Tropicales. The first page is all about the pension, and if you go for the second page - click on "step into the tropics" - you will get a lot of information on Costambar and the surroundings.

By my mistake the above message now makes it look as if I live in Villas Olas Tropicales. I do not - though it would be nice. (Just so you don't think this is all a sales persons' canvas).

Regards, Susanne
