I totally disagree with you Dr One, on that Merengue is more "in" than Salsa. I say they are both VERY popular in DR!!!

Yes, they are both very popular, but I have a suggestion, "Why not learn before you go?" There are plenty of places to take lessons, and then you will be prepared to finess your style in Santo Domingo.

OK, there are places, even here in Düsseldorf, Germany. But why not learning the basics in my vacations? The environment is right, I have plenty of time, I'm in the right mood etc. Look, I will go to Havanna for some days as well. I asked a Cuban girl here about Salsa in Cuba. Here laconic answer: Get you a girl and tell her to give you lessions. Try that in Germany.
