Maggie, Did you ever find any information regarding houses or villas to rent. We will be visiting the Puerto Plata area March 13-24, 1999, with 3 teenagers and would like to look at houses as opposed to resorts or hotels. I'd like to cook at home, as feeding 3 teens for 10 days will cost a fortune! Kris

You are arriving at spring break. Check out Cabarete, not Puerto Plata. Your teenagers will have a better time than anywhere else and I also recommend the Nanny estates. Talk to the manager named Louisa, the tel # is 809-571-0744, fax 809-571-0655, e-mail is nanny.state@codetel.net.do they have 2 bedroom townhouse units which would work and are on the beach and a short walk to Cabarete and just 15 minutes from the airport. All the fun action is in Cabrete (windsurfing, sailing, surfing, horseback riding, mountain biking, motorcycle rentals, beach bars and discos, shopping, jeep safari tours, you name it. this is the place. good luck.
