Dominican Republic = PARADISE!!!
Hi! About 5 years ago, 4 girlfriends and I went to the Dominican Republic for a vacation. None of us had really been on a real vacation before and at the time of our booking were not even sure where exactly we wanted to go...so we took one of those last minute deals and ended up in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Plata to be exact. Well, i truly thought i had died and gone to heaven...the beaches were breath taking and the people were so warm and inviting. We also met some really great folks from all over the world, infact i am leaving for England in 2 weeks to visit with some friends i met on my first trip to the Dominican. We stayed at the Playa Dorada Beach Hotel and Casino (Occidential Hotel chain...i do believe this hotel is exclusive to Sunquest Vacations) on all 4 of our visits...i would highly recommend this hotel as it has everything you would ever need or want (casino, disco, pool, towel service, nice rooms, childrens "fun club", etc, etc). The staff there are some of the nicest people i have ever met and are now some of our very good friends who we communicate with on a regular basis and spend a lot of our time with while in Puerto Plata. I can guarantee that you will not find more beautiful people anywhere else in the world!!! These people work very hard for very little but invite every single day regardless of the hardships they are surrounded by. They need very little reason to have a party and celebrate life. My friends and i have certainly learned some valuable lessons from these incredible people...live each day to the fullest and material items are not important. We have all heard these things but if you could only see the Dominicans and their way of life it really makes some of our so-called hardships look like a walk in the park. For people who have not had the opportunity to have a high level of education, they certainly taught my friends and i many lessons about life. If you ever get the chance to go i highly recommend it...it is even a very reasonable cost...for 2 weeks, all-inclusive (and i mean everything!) 4**** hotel, directly on the beach, etc, etc,...we only paid $1200.00 Canadian!!! This is a complete steal!
