Tom, get back in your cage. You're the one that sounds neurotic...

I have never felt the need to be vaccinated for anything before going to the DR, although I have been for traveling to other parts of Latin America. I agree with Jim Hinsch, that if there is even one case of Malaria, it should be reported to the authorities in a responsible manner. Otherwise, it seems this guy Tom is only attempting to slander the DR. Many of us have family there, so do as Luisa Carmen suggested, Tom, and get back in your cage.

In all fairness to "Tom" let me remind everyone it is NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PATIENT to report certain diseases to the Department of Public Health or the CDC but the RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ATTENDING PHYSICIAN. There are forms to fill out and protocol to follow and if the physician FAILS to report a "reportable" disease they are subject to lose their license.

yes, well, in all fairness to all of us. If Tom really had Malaria and wants us to take him seriously, why does he not contact the CDC, or make sure his doctor does? I personally will not believe what he says until the CDC is alerted.
