I need a cheap room in Punta Cana and info

I'm looking for a cheap room in Punta Cana area for the 23rd Mar and then leaving for Samana the next morning,just wondering if anybody knows if there is a Caribe tour bus or Gua-Gua that goes to Samana and if so at what times and how much.Any info would be greatly appreciated.

From Punta Cana on anything other than a taxi you'd have to:

1. Take a guagua to Higuey 2. From there take a guagua to Miches and thence to Sabana de la Mar 3. Take the ferry from Sabana de la Mar to Samana.

If necessary, the best place to overnight along this route is Miches, which has several pretty decent little hotels. If you get to Sabana de la Mar late, there is one hotel 2km west of town called Paraiso de Cana Hondo -- nice enough but no need to reserve ahead.
