Crime and Punishment
It is a very worrisome circumstance to read about the increasing number of crimes perpetrated against foreigners in the Dominican Republic.
If you know what I know, you will know that when the specter of crime start to sink its teeth in tourists and foreigners residing in a particular locale, it is because the native population has already been victimized by the very same perpetrators.
Therefore, somebody has been snoring at the wheel for some time.
The wake-up call only arrive when too many hotel rooms start collecting dust and some deep pockets start to feel the painful trauma of seeing their revenues evaporate.
Ask South Florida, Colombia, Costa Rica and Jamaica, about it.
