What is going on in Licey ? And why haven't the police or the military done anything to stop the violence. We can't even leave our homes. Haven't been out in almost a week.

what does this mean? what is going on?

I have been told that this is part of a strike by the general populace against the increase in the cost of living like the recent hike in the price of gasoline and staples. I have seen similar rioting in the past, with cars being torched. For sure stay off the streets until it dies down, usually 2 days. Canadian Bob.

Could have been Carnival. The gas hike was back in September and only one day was allowed for rioting back then.
