Default DR or Cuba?

Some friends are planning a holiday. I have told them of all the wonderful experiences I have had with the DR and its people......but they still have to decide and they are leaning towards Cuba. Personally I have been to Cuba only one time about 8 years ago. I would welcome any insight and information on the differences. With your help and keeping politics aside maybe I can convince them to go to the DR and have a great time, thanking in advance Phil

From personal experience, I have visited the DR on 4 occasions, since 1987. Never had a bad experience or felt unsafe at any moment. I've visited Cuba once in 1998. As a personal preference, I would strongly suggest the DR. All politics aside, although they do reflect the conditions of a country, I would strongly suggest the DR over Cuba any day. Need more details, please feel free to e-mail.

I agree with HT 100%. You will have a much better time in the DR than in Cuba .
