Default ECH, Hillbilly, or anyone

Does anyone know any physicians, clinics or university psychology departments in the DR that specialize in or at least have a knowledge of autism? Can someone tell me the spanish word for autism and who I might contact for information of incidence there? thanks folks, wanda

Default This is a tough one.

Autism is very difficult to treat. I have not heard of anyone specializing in this field, but like your other friends here, I will look and ask my son about this.
A long time ago, I was working in a bookstore while doing graduate work. A nice woman came in and asked if we had any books on autism. It was busy, noisy, in the middle of the Christmas rush, and since I wasn't sure I had heard right, I had to ask her to repeat "autism" several times. I asked the manager, and she had me repeat it several times. She thought I had said "artistic"!
There are many places in the States that are excellent with these children-I hope you find what you are looking for.

Default Maybe this will help

Wanda,
I hope you find someone locally. Please check out this web site. There is a special section on autism and diet. I met Dr. Semon and he is very serious about autism, as his son has it. Good luck. There is nothing more important to a parent than the health of his/her child.
