We will be in DR over the Xmas holidays. Can anyone tell me if I can access a british bank anywhere near the Riu Merengue? If not how far away is the nearest one?
I would prefer not to take travellers cheques and just use my Visa Cards to get cash in the DR currency when required.
You should be able to use your bank ATM card at machines countrywide. In my experience, the only cost associated with this method is the fee that your bank will charge you ($1.25US in my case) per transaction.
